The Graduate Program in Immunology's goal is to prepare young investigators for outstanding research careers that address fundamental aspects of immune system function. Trainees have the opportunity to work with leaders in the field and to become experts in their chosen area, to perform cutting edge research and to contribute fundamental new knowledge by publishing in top journals, and to prepare themselves for their future careers in academic or other settings.
Postdoctoral Training
The Department of Immunology provides outstanding research opportunities for postdoctoral fellows in a cohesive and vibrant research and educational environment. The Department affords postdoctoral fellows an intimate training experience highlighted by close interactions with faculty mentors, fellows, students and staff and multiple opportunities for professional development as they prepare to embark on their independent careers.
Undergraduate Education
Duke Immunology offers undergraduate research opportunities which will enrich and complement a student’s course work. Undergraduates have the opportunity to work with outstanding faculty, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students as they learn about immunology and the methods and approaches of scholarly research.
